Appeal launched to catch fuel thieves targeting A15

A police appeal has been launched after reports of fuel thefts spanning several months - and the A15 area is being targeted.

Humberside Police officers are appealing for information following a number of incidents at laybys along the A15 andA18 in North Lincolnshire.

The incidents have occurred overnight and in the early hours of the morning over the past few months.

Industrial parks have also been targeted.

In each case unknown offenders have approached parked up vehicles before syphoning off fuel.

The North Lincolnshire stretch of the A15 runs from Kirton Lindsey to Barton upon Humber, passing places such as Hibaldstow and Scawby.

The public are being urged to be the force’s ‘eyes and ears’ reporting anything suspicious to the police.

Officers would particularly like to speak to anyone who has seen people or vehicles acting suspiciously around these types of locations.

Likewise, they would like to find out where the stolen fuel is being stored or sold 
on.
