Writing on his JustGiving fundraising page, Paul says: “I have secured a place in this year’s Great North Run half-marathon and although I have not run this distance for well over 25 years I am spurred on to run it again for such a good cause.”
Paul, a regular jogger, says he intends to ‘tuck in just behind Mo Farah ... about five miles behind’.
Speaking of the cause, he adds: “Having a Hearing Dog gives independence and security to not just an adult deaf person but a youngster as well. Between us we can transform someone’s life.”
