Sleaford Town Boys 2

Lincoln Moorlands 2

Sleaford Town Boys continued their good progress in the league with another fine team performance at home to Lincoln Moorlands.

With Harry Hancock and Jamie Jenkins dictating play from the middle of the park, Sleaford Boys enjoyed some impressive possession for large parts of the first half against their older opponents.

Shots from Brett Callow, Owen Park and Jordan Berry rained in on the visitors’ goal, but the game remained scoreless at half time.

Moorlands took the lead early in the second half, somewhat against the run of play.

But Sleaford Boys showed good spirit and continued prompting and probing to force their way back into the game.

The home team were duly rewarded for their endeavours when Harry Hancock’s shot from outside the box took a deflection on its way into the net.

Within two minutes, Sleaford Boys were ahead as Lewis Russell finished off a fine move with a low shot across the keeper.

At this stage Sleaford Boys were looking good value for the victory, but a rare attack from Lincoln Moorlands presented them with a chance which was dispatched into the Sleaford goal to take a share of the points.
