Nostalgia: Society formation
In 1991, Market Rasen saw the formation of an organisation whose aim was to protect the character of the town.
The Market Rasen Society held its inaugural meeting om the town’s Church Room, with 29 people present, including most of the town council, two officers from West Lindsey planning department and community representatives.
The aim of the society was to have a say on planning applications in the town and look at preservation of significant buildings.
