A Tealby ten-year-old has had her luscious locks snipped to raise money for a charity which helps children with cancer.

Ella Taylor has donated her hair to the Little Princess Trust, which makes wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment.

“I thought this would be a nice thing to do for charity,” said Ella. “The minimum donation to the Trust is seven inches of hair, but mine was 12 inches, so I hope this will make a huge difference to a little girl somewhere wanting a wig.”

The wigs cost £350-400 to produce and Ella has beat her target of £500 to raise £800 through sponsorship.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported me and to hairdresser Natalie Chapman who donated her time and talent,” said Ella.
