Boston’s Mayor raised the flag in the Memorial Gardens earlier this week ahead of Armed Forces Day on Saturday this week.

Coun Frank Pickett raised the Armed Forces Day flag as part of a country-wide campaign of awareness and recognition of the continuing work and achievements of our armed forces.

The flag will fly until Saturday on the Wide Bargate flag mast, and is also been flown from civic buildings.

The mayor was joined by representatives of veterans’ groups and other dignitaries for the flag-raising ceremony.
