South Anston: Quarry machine fire believed to have been started deliberately

Fire firghters in Maltby have tackled a machinery fire at a quarry that is thought to have been started deliberately.

The fire was at a quarry on Sheffield Road in South Anston and involved crushing plant machinery and a diesel fuel tank alight.

Crews were called to the incident at 7.15am this morning (Wednesday, 15th Janaury) and were at the scene for just over 90 minutes.

The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate with the blaze starting in the fuel tank and spreading to the rest of the machine it was attached to.
